Learning & Leadership Summit
Each and every person is essential to ensuring that North Carolina is a place where robust families thrive. We host the biennial Learning & Leadership Summit where we enhance the practice and leadership skills of participants by providing educational workshops designed to help professionals develop essential skills. These skills are necessary to support and strengthen families in their communities, activate support for effective prevention practice, and engage all members of society in promoting what works in effective child maltreatment prevention and treatment.
Stay tuned for Prevent Child Abuse NC’s next Learning & Leadership Summit in 2021!
Register for the NC Community Resilience Conference 2020: Moving from Awareness to Action. The conference builds upon the framework of community-led initiatives across the state raising ACEs awareness to build a statewide movement supporting the development of resilient children, families and communities.
The conference previously scheduled to take place this past June, has been rescheduled to March 15, 2021, due to conditions stemming from the COVID-19 outbreak.
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us all to reimagine what events look like moving forward and Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina’s (PCANC) 5 Factors 5k is no exception! With a high likelihood of social distancing restrictions still being in place in October, our 5K will be virtual this year.
HERE’S THE COOL PART:
Because we cannot gather in-person, we are expanding the one-day event to AN ENTIRE RACE WEEK (Oct. 24-31), packed with all the family-friendly activities we typically host on race day. That means you get to choose when and where you complete you 5k, AND you will have access to an entire week of fun, virtual activities designed for all ages! Calendar of events to be released mid-September.
We may be physically distant, but we remain TOGETHER in preventing child abuse and neglect. Please join us for our first-ever 5 Factors (virtual) 5K.
Sign up to support families of NC and receive 7 days of virtual fun for only $35!

Strengthening & Connection: Families, Congregations & Communities
Our faith communities play a special role in supporting the health and well-being of our communities, so how do we strengthen and connect with our families, congregations and communities during this time? Prevention and connection happen in partnership.
Stay tuned for more information about a week-long webinar series in September hosted by Prevent Child Abuse NC, IEI and NC Council of Churches to learn about the protective factors that strengthen, connections that matter, and how together we can support one another!
