Strengthening Families Program 6-11

Strengthening Families Program 6-11

Strengthening Families Program 6-11 (SFP 6-11) is an evidence-based family life skills training program developed by Dr. Karol Kumpfer to improve parenting skills, enhance family relationships and increase children’s social and life skills.  For nearly 20 years, SFP has been implemented in schools, drug treatment centers, family and youth service agencies, community mental health centers, public housing communities, shelters, churches, and drug courts.

SFP 6-11 targets families with children between the ages of 6 and 11.  Each group may include up to 14 families.  The SFP 6-11 curriculum is implemented over 14 weekly, two-hour sessions.  Each Session Includes three groups: a parents’ group, a children’s group, and a family group.
