Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina (PCANC) announces the election of its fiscal year 2023-2024 executive officers: Dee McDougal, board chair; Stephen Dauchert, board vice-chair; Sharon Baxter, secretary; and William Goebel, treasurer. The executive officers will lead a team of 16 statewide volunteer leaders dedicated to child well-being and family strengthening efforts across North Carolina.

Raleigh-native Dee McDougal now serves as Chair of Prevent Child Abuse NC (PCANC)’s Board of Directors. Since joining the board in 2018, she has served in various roles, including vice chair and member of the philanthropy committee. McDougal has a strong professional background in Marketing & Communications and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, having held roles of increasing responsibility across the consulting, financial services and commercial real estate industries during her 20-year career. Currently, she is Global Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Capco, a global management and technology consulting firm. McDougal holds a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from UNC Greensboro. When not working or volunteering, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and pup.

Stephen Dauchert of Raleigh now serves as Vice Chair for PCANC’s Board. He joined the Board of Directors in 2021. Dauchert works with The Redwoods Group, a mission-aligned insurance provider for youth-serving organizations, as Chief Marketing Officer. With over 15 years of experience in marketing and sexual abuse prevention, Dauchert is an expert in his field. Outside of his profession, he serves as Campaign Volunteer for the YMCA of the Triangle and is a Certified Trainer for Darkness to Light. Dauchert holds his Master’s in Business Administration from Duke University and his Bachelor’s in Spanish from the University of Georgia.

William Goebel of Greensboro now serves as Treasurer of PCANC’s Board of Directors. Goebel has over 25 years of experience in international and domestic marketing, sales, licensing, manufacturing, importing, exporting and finance. This experience spans across the Food Industry, Health and Beauty Industry, Healthcare, Home Furnishing, Retail Distribution, Nonprofits and the Media Industry. Currently, Goebel owns MPACT Solutions LLC, a Maintenance and Reliability Training Company that he reinvented in 2009. Goebel is currently a school board member for Guilford County Schools. He has appeared on Good Morning America and co-hosts The Common Ground podcast.

Sharon Baxter of Durham now serves as Secretary of the PCANC Board of Directors. Baxter is a retired pediatrician who practiced for over 20 years in both academic and community settings. Through her many years of practice at an urban teaching hospital and neighborhood center in Pittsburgh, with a private practice in Charlotte, and in a Community Health Center near Charlotte, Baxter saw the importance of supporting parents and families in their roles as nurturers, teachers and providers to help children thrive. Baxter has also volunteered in medical mission trips to Central and South America, and has served as an active school volunteer, and is active in her community with the neighborhood association board and through other activities. Baxter is a graduate of Duke University and the Medical University of South Carolina.
