Thanks to a grant, Clay County Department of Social Services (DSS), in partnership with the Community Child Protection Team, engaged a diverse group of community stakeholders to develop a plan to support families and children.

The Community Prevention Action Plan is under construction.

Clay County plans to prevent child maltreatment:

  1. Change social norms around asking for help
  2. Promote child well-being
  3. Maximize adult well-being
  4. Build a safe, stable, nurturing community

Stakeholders involved:

Clay County DSS, Clay County Health Department, Clay County Schools, Clay County Sheriff’s Department, parents, and more.
