Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina (PCANC) welcomes Ed Speedling, MSW, MHA, FACHE, of Charlotte to its 2017/2018 statewide board of directors. Speedling joins a team of 14 volunteer leaders dedicated to ensuring all North Carolina children thrive in safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments.
Speedling believes North Carolina’s children deserve to be safe, learn, and succeed in their family and future professional lives.
“Ed brings with him a passion to help build communities where all people have the ability to succeed and achieve their full potential, especially children and their families,” said Sharon Hirsch, PCANC President and CEO. “His experience with children’s issues and background in child protective services and healthcare will support our efforts to make wise investments in programs built on evidence to prevent child abuse and neglect before they occur.”
Speedling is the President of ES Healthcare Consulting, an organization that helps clients assess and evaluate their readiness to integrate physical and behavioral health and build new innovative services to better manage patients in their communities and determine the best course of action for their hospital, health system, FQHC, CMHC, ambulatory group, or population health management strategy. He received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University, his Master of Social Work degree from Widener University (Chester, PA), and his Master’s in Health Administration from St. Joseph’s University (Philadelphia, PA). He recently obtained his Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) credential. Speedling is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and a member of the local Greater Charlotte Area chapter.
Speedling has served on the following boards: The Family and Child Abuse Prevention Center of Toledo (CAC sites and domestic violence intervention, prevention, and treatment) where Ed was VP of the Board (2014-2017) and NAMI Toledo where Ed was also VP of the Board and Nomination Committee Chair (2013-2017). He lives in Charlotte with his wife, three daughters, and dog.
