Community Prevention Action Plans

Community Prevention Action Plans (CPAPs) are based on the Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework and promote education, awareness, and intervention for preventing child abuse and neglect at the local level. In partnership with Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina (PCANC), seven different communities across the state are in the process of creating and launching a CPAP. PCANC is funded by our partners at the North Carolina Division of Social Services (NC DSS), North Carolina Institute of Medicine (NC IOM) Essentials For Childhood grant, and the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust (KBR) to provide facilitation, resources, and training throughout the planning process.
