Highlights from the Lending Library:
- "The Dad Difference: Raising Children Birth to Five." This two-volume set is made specifically for fathers. Volume 1 follows a diverse group of expectant and new dads as they play a vital role in pregnancy, labor, and the birth of their children. Volume 2 inspires fathers to nurture their child's development as they deal with the life-changing realities of being a father. A facilitator's guide is included. These videos are available in English and Spanish.
- “Building Blocks: Empowering Families Against Child Sexual Abuse.” This video focuses on how parents can identify everyday situations where they can teach their child skills to develop empowerment, communication, assertiveness and strong boundaries. It also provides safety tips for parents for dating, relationships and choosing caregivers in addition to addressing common myths and realities of child sexual abuse.
- “Emotion Coaching” and “What Am I Feeling?” The purpose of the video “Emotion Coaching” is to help parents understand the importance of valuing emotions, both in children and in themselves. It begins by asking parents, “How do you feel about emotions?” which helps to answer the next question: “How do you parent?” Parents are helped to understand the unique differences of four parenting styles and encouraged to use the five steps of emotion coaching to guide their children through emotional issues. Based on the book “What Am I Feeling?”
