Stop Bullying @ School & Online
Every child deserves a safe, supportive learning environment. Bullying disrupts that environment and threatens children’s well being. When children are bullied, it impacts their ability to learn. But the damage doesn’t only lie with the child who is bullied. It affects the entire school community as well as the child’s family, especially when it moves from the playground to the internet in the form of cyberbullying.
According to stopbullying.gov, when bullying occurs in schools:
- Student achievement suffers
- Absenteeism and dropout rates increase
- Teacher morale declines
- Student-teacher relationships suffer
- Parent confidence and trust in the school decline
By working together, the entire school community – administrators, teachers, staff, and parents – can create a supportive environment where students feel safe and are ready to learn.
