When we invest wisely in programs and strategies that promote children's well-being, the next generation will pay it back through a lifetime of productivity and responsible citizenship. PCANC is dedicated to providing North Carolina’s communities and professionals with innovative tools that prevent child abuse and neglect before it occurs. Our programs help community organizations strengthen families and increase protective factors to ensure that children thrive.
Evidence-based and Promising Programs
PCANC is a leader in promoting programs that are proven to work. Our evidence-based programs, The Incredible Years Parenting Program and Strengthening Families Program 6-11, have been thoroughly tested in randomized control group studies and are proven to work when implemented correctly. A large part of our work is aiding communities in proper implementation so we can ensure that families are getting the help they need. Our promising program, Circle of Parents, is backed by significant research but has not yet been tested against a control group. And, we were instrumental in bringing the Nurse-Family Partnership to North Carolina.
